Helicopter Spins Wildly into Palm Groves at Frequented California Beach
A chopper flying over a crowded coastal shoreline suddenly began spiraling uncontrollably, ultimately dropping height and crashing into a cluster of palm trees as onlookers looked on.
Recordings posted on the internet show the helicopter commencing to spiral above Huntington Beach then plunging in the direction of the border of the beach, where it becomes wedged amidst palms and a set of stairs near the Pacific Coast highway.
Rescue Operation Information
Local firefighters stated five individuals were rushed to the hospital comprising two who were in the aircraft and were “rescued from the debris” following the crash on the weekend.
Three individuals on the road were harmed. Details on their wounds were not yet released.
The cause of the crash was still under investigation.
